I know several families with ASD where the fathers (or other siblings) only look slightly less than this stereotype. In other words, many of the inheritable bits are likely expressed outside before becoming clinically important.eurologisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03440019181278830033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7785493.post-81293565922270328442011-10-21T05:29:09.963+03:002011-10-21T05:29:09.963+03:00One of my sons has Aspergers and he also has these...One of my sons has Aspergers and he also has these features, very different from those of his brothers.beltanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18142885786814184181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7785493.post-54819085628977149062011-10-21T01:49:01.050+03:002011-10-21T01:49:01.050+03:00Broader and shorter upper face - sounds like facia...Broader and shorter upper face - sounds like facial masculinzation to me, although of course that's usually also connected with a relatively larger (longer) lower facial jaw region (which is why the whole male face including the jaw is similar or slightly narrower to the female face).

http://tinyurl.com/3rgf688
http://tinyurl.com/625hv5d

And there is the "male brain" theory of autism...Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04517454865405705885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7785493.post-85395374923696171282011-10-21T00:08:46.890+03:002011-10-21T00:08:46.890+03:00The brain develops in concert and in coordination ...The brain develops in concert and in coordination with the developing facial tissues, with each influencing the development of the other and sharing genetic signaling pathways.
